Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and evaluating client care, promoting quality of life, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the rehabilitation programs and client care at our medically fragile program
  • Implement and evaluate client care, promoting quality of life and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients
  • Provide ongoing training and supervision of program staff, including orientation, feedback, and performance appraisals
  • Manage staff in providing client care, setting priorities, and enforcing care plans
  • Communicate and liaise with the Head of Client Services regarding pre-assessment of potential clients, client psycho-social rehabilitation programs, and developing and revising Individual Service Plans
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, leading the development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of clients' Individual Support Plans and Individual Program Plans
  • Oversee the admission, discharge, and transfer of clients according to Cheshire Homes Society of BC policies and procedures
  • Ensure that clients, families, and support networks are educated on clients' rights and programs
  • Maintain accountability standards as set by licensing and pharmacy regulations
  • Facilitate the work of the Occupational Health and Safety committee and ensure inspections are done and safety issues are addressed immediately
  • Adhere to the program budget by overseeing petty cash expenditures and submitting them to the head office monthly

Requirements:

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary program (diploma) in a related field
  • Recent related supervisory experience of one to three years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC) or working towards becoming an LPN considered an asset
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to use the computer, MS Office, email, and internet
  • Class 5 Driver's License and the use of a personal vehicle
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow direction and instruction
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with staff, clients, client's support networks, professionals, and funding agencies
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
