About the Role

Pembina Hills School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at École Westlock Elementary School.

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-directed team player who is interested in working primarily one-on-one with complex needs children in the classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with diverse needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, and collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including those with behavioral challenges and developmental delays
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Experience working with complex needs and behaviorally challenged students would be an asset
  • Experience working with ECS students would be an asset
  • Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
  • Able to work as a member of the school team
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
