Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Manager to join our team at Baker Tilly. As a key member of our Assurance and Advisory department, you will be responsible for leading and managing a wide range of audit and review engagements, working closely with partners and clients to ensure timely and efficient delivery of high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage audit and review engagements, including planning, execution, and finalization in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop and implement effective audit strategies.
  • Manage and develop a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of engagements.
  • Analyze financial information and operational performance to identify areas for improvement and to develop recommendations for clients.
  • Assess risk and controls, and provide clients with solutions and recommendations to improve their financial reporting and compliance.
  • Review and compile financial statements and related note disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable financial reporting frameworks.
  • Provide exceptional client service, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to add value to clients.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and to develop solutions that meet their requirements.

Requirements:

  • Canadian CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of total experience in Audit within a professional services firm, working with private enterprises and not-for-profits of varying complexity levels.
  • Experience working in ASPE and ASNPO financial reporting frameworks is required. IFRS and PSAS experience is an asset.
  • Previous corporate tax experience is an asset.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing effective and efficient audit engagements on time and budget.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, matched with problem-solving skills and professional judgment to find optimal solutions in an efficient manner.
  • Curiosity and an eye for detail to view challenges from multiple perspectives and enhance clients' knowledge.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, Quickbooks Online, and Sage Accounting is an asset.
  • Technological strength with MS Office 365, especially in Microsoft Excel.
