Salary

The hourly rate of pay ranges from $32.84 to $41.35 under the Nurses' Bargaining Association Provincial Collective Agreement.

Job Description

As a Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with GoHealth BC, you will have the opportunity to work in various rural sites across British Columbia. You will be responsible for providing personal care and performing nursing procedures in different clinical settings and communities. The position uses a self-scheduling model, allowing you to schedule your shifts, where and when you want to work, and your preferred departments.

The role involves working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the Unit/Program Manager or designate. You will perform assessments, plan, and provide care, as well as perform nursing procedures in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.

Rural community facilities provide a wide range of services, and you may be required to be competent in multiple clinical settings. You will have the opportunity to work in various locations, including Atlin, Chetwynd, Daajing Giids, Dawson Creek, Dease Lake, Fort Nelson, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Hazelton, Kitimat, Mackenzie, Masset, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Smithers, Stewart, Terrace, Tumbler Ridge, and Vanderhoof.

You will receive all necessary travel support, including flights, car rental or NH fleet vehicles, ferries, or a mileage equivalency, as well as a $76.00 per day meal per diem. All accommodation is provided, typically with a kitchenette.

Family members (spouses, children) may be able to accompany GoHealth BC employees to some locations on a case-by-case basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary team and the public.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
  • Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the CLPNBC, including administering medications.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
