Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a skilled Electrical Trades Supervisor to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to provide supervision and technical expertise in electrical trades, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise designated staff and perform administrative duties as required.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and resolution through recognized methodologies and collaboration with clients.
  • Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programs using computerized management systems.
  • Perform skilled electrical work at the journeyman level, including installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12, plus five years' related experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
