About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Concurrent Disorder Therapist to join our team at the Alouette Correctional Centre for Women. As a member of our inter-professional team, you will provide trauma-informed individualized therapeutic counselling services to clients with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing to clients.
  • Facilitate psycho-education and process-oriented group therapy to support clients in achieving their treatment goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the inter-professional team.
  • Participate in enrollment to programs and ensure seamless transitions for clients.
  • Act as an advocate for clients during inter-professional team meetings and complete relevant forms for ongoing and after-care planning.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in an allied health discipline (counselling and/or social work) from an approved and accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Three (3) years' of recent related clinical experience, including at least one (1) year's experience in a concurrent disorder, substance use or mental health program providing therapeutic individual and group counselling.
