Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager - US to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's tax compliance and reporting obligations in the United States are met.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate all aspects of US tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and related filings.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of all required tax returns and disclosures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations to assess potential impacts on our tax position and recommend strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
- Lead and support tax planning initiatives to identify opportunities for tax savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, legal, and business teams, to provide tax advice and support on various business transactions, initiatives, and projects.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities to facilitate efficient tax compliance and resolution of tax-related issues.
- Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues, rulings, and regulations to provide guidance and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
- Support the tax provision process, including the calculation of current and deferred tax liabilities, effective tax rates, and related financial statement disclosures.
- Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar discipline.
- Certified Public Accounting Designation (US or CAN) is essential.
- At least 4+ years of relevant experience in US tax compliance in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and developing staff.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
