Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunication Line Technician to join our team at Maple AV Inc. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing aerial and underground telephone equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
  • Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers, and splice, join, and connect wires.
  • Communication Protocols: Work with RS-232 / RS-422 communication protocols.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with coaxial line, fibre optics, single line, copper, aerial and underground cable lines, amplifiers, converters, splitters, and trunking systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Work Environment: Work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and underground.
  • Work Setting: Installation, maintenance, cable television company, remote location, repair, telecommunications company, telephone company, testing, commercial, military base or location.
Personal Qualities
  • Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, including climbing and working aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
