Job Title: Senior Computer Science and Software Developer

Telesat Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Computer Science and Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Software Development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our System Model codebase and microservice ecosystem.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand software requirements and design test strategies.
  • Build and maintain the tooling infrastructure needed to validate functional and non-functional requirements of the System Model.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and continuous integration for the System Model suite.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage test environments, ensuring stability and availability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-9 years of relevant experience in software development and testing.
  • Experience in Python and/or Java programming language.
  • Experience working with multiple test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with GitLab for version control and CI/CD processes.
  • Solid understanding of Linux environments and command-line tools.
  • Experience with Linux clusters and cluster job managers.
  • Experience with agile development.
Equipment Used:
  • Computers running Windows and Linux.
  • Linux Cluster HPC Environment.
Decision Making & Supervision:
  • In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the software design, development workflow, and testing environment of the Lightspeed System Model.
