Commercial HVAC Service Technician Role

We are seeking a seasoned HVAC Journeyman to join our team in the Ottawa, ON area. This position involves working with commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, providing top-notch service and maintenance.

About the Job:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests for commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Start-up and commissioning of Trane controls and HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including split systems, package units, chillers, and ancillary components.
  • Optimize building control systems for better usage by owners.
  • Replace and modify HVAC equipment or systems as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Journeyman license required.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with handheld devices.
  • A valid driver's license with no major traffic violations.
  • Ability to work on-call rotation and/or overtime, including occasional overnight stays.

Environmental Exposure and Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to safely operate a vehicle and wear safety gear, such as helmets and fall protection harnesses.
  • Must be able to twist, squat, reach overhead, and stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
  • This role requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
