Trent University Durham-GTA is seeking a qualified candidate for a limited-term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy. The position commences January 1st, 2025 and ends August 15th, 2026.
Candidates are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy with a strong research program in the areas of history of philosophy and/or ethics. The successful candidate will teach three half-credit courses in each of the fall and winter semesters during the contract, as well as one half-credit course in the summer. In addition to a fourth-year course in either the fall or winter semester of academic year 2025-26, the successful candidate will teach a selection of the following courses in accordance with their teaching and research experience:
• PHIL 1100H: Introduction to Philosophy: Moral and Political

- Teach undergraduate courses in philosophy
- Contribute to the department's research and academic programs
