About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wind Service Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide site-level support to the Site Manager (SM) and ensure the site is working safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems independently and efficiently, and provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices, and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Support the SM in performance reviews for technicians, and perform downtime allocations as per the contract.
  • Assure timely submittal of all required documentation, and escalate any human performance concerns to the SM.
  • Perform site inventory, order consumables and other office supplies, and assure proper packaging and labeling of parts to be shipped off site.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of wind experience with a high school diploma or 3+ years of wind experience with an associate's or trade school degree/certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to climb to heights up to 250 feet or greater and work in confined spaces.
  • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations.
  • Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Must have a clean driving record and pass pre-hire drug screening.
