About the Role

The Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for managing and providing guidance to operations teams. This role oversees all aspects of site operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adhere to the annual production budget
  • Participate in new product development and planning
  • Attend organizational meetings
  • Supervise direct and indirect reports to benefit associates and establish a positive relationship with them

Job Description Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Continuously improve Employee Safety systems, identify issues, and solve them, driving a Zero mindset on employee injuries
  2. Assure Food Safety and Quality systems are in place, delivering customer expectations
  3. Work with the supply chain team to identify capacity constraints and ensure delivery of 98.5% level customer service every month
  4. Implement Performance Systems, Lean approach to Manufacturing, and drive proactive communication throughout the organization
  5. Leverage performance system approach to lead by example and calibrate teams on performance
  6. Deliver 3-5% cost savings annually through identifying and executing projects to improve OEE, reduce product waste, and unnecessary costs
  7. Create and drive annual business plans focusing on People, Safety, Quality, Service, and Costs
  8. Lead Plant teams, ensuring clear goals, objectives, and expectations on performance, and calibrate the team on results regularly
  9. Monitor daily operation schedules for accuracy and ensure daily operational goals are realized
  10. Provide strategic guidance to the organization through participation in cross-functional meetings and data analysis on sales trends and cost performance
  11. Create a 3-5 year strategic plan for the facility that assures supply, maintains infrastructure needs, and supports the organization's growth strategy
  12. Improve facility stewardship and asset maintenance
  13. Participate in new product development and planning by researching cost and ability to produce the product
  14. Lead the implementation of new products for the facility
  15. Adhere to the approved operations annual budget and provide budget updates and adjustments as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; preference for degrees in Engineering and Food Science
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a production facility; with at least three years as a Plant Manager
  • Preference for experience in the food industry

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The company offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
