Senior Tax Accountant

At OnPoint Talent Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory services for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Conduct tax research and provide clients with strategic tax planning and advisory services.
  • Manage multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality services in a timely manner.
  • Analyze financial information and identify potential tax issues and opportunities for tax savings.
  • Stay current with tax law changes and inform clients of relevant updates.
  • Assist in resolving tax notices and audits by federal, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and communication.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, demonstrating expertise and value-added insights.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public accounting firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, provincial, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
