About the Role:

VON Canada is seeking a skilled Continuing Care Assistant to join our team in Nova Scotia. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will provide personal care and support to clients in their homes and other settings, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, grooming, dressing, and bathing.
  • Assist with meal preparation and light household duties.
  • Help with mobility and transfers, and monitor and maintain household safety.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Continuing Care Assistant program or certified as a Continuing Care Assistant.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
