Assistant Director of Resident Care, Finch, Geriatric Care Specialist

Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Resident Care (ADRC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care services at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. Reporting to the Director of Resident Care, the ADRC will assist in coordinating care services that meet government legislations, standards, policies, and procedures, while reflecting the organization's resident-centered care approach, mission, vision, values, and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Resident Care to develop nursing departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring departmental activities to ensure high-quality care and safety for residents, families, and staff.
- Seek feedback and evaluation from peers, staff, residents, and their families to improve care initiatives and programs.
- Work with the nursing team and other stakeholders to implement quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of nursing experience, including experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, and Long-Term Care Nursing, and 3 years of supervisory experience in hospital or long-term care.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Dedication to quality care supported by data-driven analytics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Computer literacy required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin and other languages is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Normal working conditions.
- May need to work evenings, nights, weekends as per operational needs.
- Occasional travel.
