Nursery Manager

Amber Greenhouse & Farms Inc. is seeking a skilled Nursery Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our horticultural operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our nursery and greenhouse staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead and manage a team of nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality results.
- Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement strategies for maintaining our grounds, including planning and directing labor and materials.
- Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the necessary resources for projects, ensuring accurate estimates and efficient use of materials.
- Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction process, ensuring compliance with safety standards and high-quality finishes.
- Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate and direct landscape construction projects, from planning to completion.
- Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately record and maintain records of work completed, materials used, and staff performance.
- Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and quality products.
- Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure necessary materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use.
- Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Provide guidance and support to nursery and greenhouse staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures, ensuring optimal productivity and quality.
- Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship opportunities for persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
