Project Manager II

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and meeting client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 6-10 active medium projects with minimal assistance from management.
- Resolve project issues and resource constraints within the team and with moderate assistance.
- Facilitate positive team member interactions and manage conflict with minimal assistance.
- Establish and practice standard project reporting procedures to clients and management.
- Manage client satisfaction by efficiently managing client expectations with minimal assistance from management.
- Maintain a very good relationship with clients and grow it positively.
- Make recommendations on drug development and regulatory guidelines to clients.
- Plan, monitor, and ensure completion of all activities outlined in the client quote for each project.
- Prepare amendments for changes of scope in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain client timelines.
- Create and maintain deliverables within Change Point.
- Contribute to Unit monthly forecasts by managing project Estimated Monetary Value (EMV) and tracking reporting of revenue Risks and Opportunities.
- Find opportunities to improve performance of PDS PM Department with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive the performance of the PDS PM Department, the site, and the Network (as appropriate).
Requirements:
- College Diploma in a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Pharmacy, Engineering, or Business (an asset).
- Minimum 5 years industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience managing projects or clients.
- Project Management/Business management experience (an asset).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (an asset).

- Ability to prioritize multiple project deliverables in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to results.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and database management skills.
- Proficiency with the English language.
Standards and Expectations:
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modeling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives.
- Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Effectively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.).
- Be client and patient conscious at all times.
- Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engaging in problem-solving.
- Model positive thinking and be open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures.
- Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner.
- Consistently strive to improve skills and knowledge in related fields.
Physical Requirements:
- Light physical effort and fatigue.
- Walks, sits, or stands for limited periods.
- May require occasional equipment operation, including keyboard equipment.
- Lifts light items for limited duration.
- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area.
- May be exposed to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator (occasionally).
