Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Shop Foreman/Mechanic to oversee the repair and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct a team of technicians and apprentices to ensure efficient and effective repair and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a trucking or transportation industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team and improving operational efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, including mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Certifications such as CITT industry certification, Class A Mechanic's License, and Red Seal Certification are considered assets.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high volume of vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Shift - Monday to Friday 8-5pm, with occasional overtime required.
