Job Summary

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team in the Seniors' Health Centre. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personal care to residents and supporting the nursing team in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing personnel in providing personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Perform procedures and treatments as instructed by nursing staff, such as administering medications and providing wound care.
  • Support residents with activities of daily living, such as eating, toileting, and mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to advance care through teaching and learning, and/or transforming care through research and innovation.

Requirements

  • Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a College of Applied Arts and Technology.
  • Long-term care experience an asset.
  • Skilled in Point of Care (POC) an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
