Job Title: Veterinary Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Oncologist to join our team at Canada West Veterinary Specialists and Critical Care Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating cancer in animals, as well as providing expert advice to clients on animal care and welfare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat cancer in animals through physical examinations, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for cancer patients, including medication, surgery, and other interventions.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on animal care and welfare, including feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to diagnose and treat a range of conditions.
  • Work closely with other members of the veterinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Experience in veterinary oncology or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
