Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the Manitoba Government. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, financial analysis, accounting, and auditing functions across various sectors and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the estimates process, including budget preparation and planning, as well as budgetary operational control.
  • Provide financial management and control, including analysis, managing financial systems and controls, financial and operational reporting.
  • Support accounting functions, including commitment, accrual, cost accounting, auditing and reviews, reconciliations, and treasury duties.
Requirements
  • Relevant post-secondary education, including enrollment at the intermediate level of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Program.
  • Operational understanding of accounting standards and demonstrated experience working with accounting principles and concepts.
  • Experience developing and monitoring financial processes and internal controls, and interpreting and applying policies, statutes, and legislation.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on MS Excel, including manipulating data, using complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex documents and deliver information to a wide variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP financial management modules or other complex financial systems.
  • Experience supervising staff, including providing mentorship, leadership, and guidance.
