Responsibilities:

* Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
* Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
* Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
* Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
* Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
* Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
* Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
* Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
* Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
* Measure and lay out reference points for installation
* Handle, recover, and store refrigerants
* Coach and instruct apprentices
* Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
* Provide customer service
* Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
* Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
* Perform maintenance such as recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, or calibrating system
* Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems

Requirements:

* Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
* Experience an asset
* Valid driver's license
* Own vehicle
* Steel-toed safety boots
* Tools
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work at heights
* Ability to work in confined spaces
* Ability to lift heavy loads
* Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
