Job Title: Journeyman/Woman Plumber

At District Mechanical, we are seeking a skilled Journeyman/Woman Plumber to join our team. As a key member of our plumbing crew, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on plumbing techniques and best practices
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
Requirements:
  • Plumber Trade Certification
  • Plumber Red Seal Certificate
  • Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Physically demanding work environment, requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads
