About the Opportunity
Perenti Group, a leading global mining services company, is seeking an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Hemlo Operations in Ontario, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise underground production and development mining crews to achieve rapid development targets and ensure safe production practices.
- Coordinate jumbo activities, manage bolt, screen, and boring processes, and oversee mucking, drilling, and hauling operations to maintain productivity and deliver on client and company KPIs.
- Conduct daily safety interactions, administer safety procedures, and mentor the workforce in best practices to drive positive standards.
- Handover completed development drifts to the production team for stoping activities and collaborate with various departments to improve working conditions and increase productivity.
- Facilitate the implementation of new technologies and work practices at Hemlo and lead crew line-up meetings.
- Write production reports and ensure accurate documentation of work activities.
Requirements
- Commitment to working safely and ensuring the safety of others.
- Minimum 5-10 years of underground mining experience and 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Rapid development mining experience, particularly with jumbo operations, is an asset.
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core certification is required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
