Campus Health Nurse Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Health Nurse to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our health services team, you will be responsible for providing health education and counseling to students and staff, as well as initiating and delivering health education and wellness programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide health education and counseling on health issues and refer to appropriate resources as needed.
- Initiate and deliver health education and wellness programs.
- Be responsible for preparation and revision of health services procedures.
- Order equipment and supplies for the health centre.
- Immunize students and staff as appropriate to their specific program.
- Remain current in immunization knowledge and other areas of wellness promotion.
- Maintain a daily log of services provided.
- Maintain a working relationship with external resource professionals and agencies.
- Assess and provide treatment for minor injuries and illness.
- Report accidents to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum three years nursing practice of which two years are recent and relevant in community or employee health and wellness.
- Eligible for registration or has active practicing status with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.
- Current knowledge of immunizations and administration of routine immunizations.
- Knowledge of infection control and occupational health.
- Level C CPR certified and Level 1 and Level II Provincial OH&S Training.
- Competence in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
- Ability to deliver and facilitate health promotion and/or wellness programs.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work independently.
