Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including month- and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, variance analysis, and trust account reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain the Finance Policy and Procedures Manual, providing technical accounting advisory to the organization
  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for all entities within the corporate group, assisting CEOs with monthly reporting packages
  • Lead the compilation and review of financial reports and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile inter-company transactions monthly
  • Execute KPI analysis, competitor reports, and provide insights to management
  • Monitor and implement new accounting standards and compliance requirements
  • Handle provincial and federal tax filing requirements
  • Respond to financial inquiries through data gathering and analysis
  • Assist the CFO with special projects and process improvements
  • Perform other assigned duties

About You

  • Post-secondary degree in Business; working towards or holding a CPA designation
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in finance
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge; insurance and warranty accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to address complex accounting issues and develop practical solutions
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, with a strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset
  • Proficiency in financial modeling in Excel
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Experience in the auto industry is a plus
  • Ability to interact professionally with senior management
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing workload effectively
