Job Title: Executive Director, Health Workforce Strategy and Policy

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the development and implementation of health workforce strategies and policies. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of healthcare in Alberta, ensuring a high-quality, accessible, and sustainable health system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of health workforce policy and strategies to achieve a high-quality, accessible, and sustainable health system.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify emerging trends and significant developments in the healthcare sector.
  • Communicate effectively with the Assistant Deputy Minister/Deputy Minister and other ministries to advance health workforce policies and programs.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to meet evolving department needs.
  • Establish a foundation of trust, respect, and credibility with the team, colleagues, and clients.
Requirements:
  • Recognized as an influential leader with a strategic focus.
  • Extensive related senior management experience with strengths in workforce planning, policy framework development, and legislative and regulatory processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Alberta healthcare environment and understanding of the health sector workforce and labour market conditions.
  • Ability to promote change, inspire innovative approaches, and motivate teams to achieve results.
  • Exceptional capacity for stakeholder collaboration and engagement, superior communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence.
What We Offer:
