Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking a highly skilled Asset Management Advisor to provide centralized asset management functions for the organization. Reporting to the Asset Management Program Manager, this position will perform an advisory role to the organization as an asset management subject matter expert for engineered and natural assets, and a project management role in delivering centralized asset management projects identified in the Asset Management Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide centralized asset management functions for the organization.
  • Perform an advisory role to the organization as an asset management subject matter expert for engineered and natural assets.
  • Deliver centralized asset management projects identified in the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Foster the development of consistent asset management culture, systems, processes, and practices across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to all departments in the development and implementation of their asset management plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, computer sciences, engineering, or related field.
  • Five years' work experience within the last 10 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
  • Sound knowledge of computerized data processing systems.
  • Excellent communication, research, writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate/diploma in asset management from IAM, IPWEA, or other recognized institution.
  • Certificate/diploma in project management from PMI or other recognized institution.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of asset management software systems.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week), however, further to the District of Saanich flexible work options, the start and stop times for the position may be adjusted for the successful candidate subject to operational requirements.
