Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Casual Library Support Staff. As a Casual Library Support Staff, you will be responsible for shelving books and other library materials, checking the shelves to ensure items are in order, and assisting with front-line customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shelve books and other library materials accurately by alphabetical and numerical sequence
  • Check the shelves to ensure books and other materials are in order
  • Assist with front-line customer service, such as checking in and out books
  • Assist with packing loan requests and returns from other Ontario libraries

Requirements

  • Ability to shelve items accurately by alphabetical and numerical sequence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to interact with the public with tact and consideration
  • Ability to use computers to look up information and do data entry

About the Library

The library is a two-story building that lends books, DVDs, digital eBooks, and more, provides internet access and meeting spaces, and offers activities online and in-person.
