Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Account Specialist to join our team at People Corporation. As a Client Account Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing administrative services to our clients, ensuring the smooth operation and administration of their benefits plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process and verify premium reports, data entry, reconciliations, and customer service requests.
  • Prepare and verify reports, correspondence, and cards as required.
  • Verify the accuracy of premiums, applications, enrolments, cards, and invoices received.
  • Balance monthly premium and remittance reports, and reconcile monthly trust fund bank accounts.
  • Remit payments to insurance companies and prepare bills/invoices for monies owed.
  • Post monthly journal entries and calculate premium rates for various benefits and process rate changes.
  • Coordinate monthly premium billing and prepare deposits, reports, and remittances for retail sales tax and Quebec Sales Tax (where applicable), and to Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Remit premium tax owing to the Finance Department each month.
  • Prepare all necessary banking documents and tax remittance cheques and cheque requisitions for clients who have no trust funds.
  • Clarify information in insurance contracts and booklets, and consult procedural summaries or operating manuals to determine the best course of action.

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard office administration procedures.
  • Excellent grammatical, spelling, and communication skills in both official languages.
  • Superior data entry skills and strong mathematical and reconciliation skills.
  • The demonstrated ability to learn and master new software and technology.
  • The ability to maintain good public relations, both within and outside the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • The ability to adhere to existing company policies and procedures.
  • The ability to use tact and discretion to maintain information in the strictest of confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the benefits and/or insurance industry.
  • Experience using accounting software.
