The Role

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team of professionals in Saint John, New Brunswick. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, you will arrange for the safe transport of temperature-sensitive products to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily logistics needs to and from various plant locations in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Plants, Distribution facilities, Customers, and Carriers to ensure the timely movement of products via various modes and equipment types
  • Coordinate the movement of Ocean, Rail, and air freight with multiple vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Create optimized transportation routes and schedules for both LTL and TL shipments using Transportation Management software
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments as necessary
  • Track and trace shipments daily; troubleshoot problems with shipments as they arise
  • Manage Drayage activities of vendor carriers at multiple plant facilities
  • Track carrier performance, including on-time service and claims ratios
  • Manage freight and accessorial costs with Carriers and Freight Forwarders
  • Generate all necessary documentation for International Shipments
  • Coordinate sample testing and documentation with plant and Quality Control departments as required

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience required; logistics operations experience an asset
