About this Role:

eBay seeks an experienced Senior Accessibility Product Manager (Subject Matter Expert) to lead our accessibility efforts. As an A11y SME, you'll review, consult, and provide guidance to product teams to ensure our platforms meet regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG, EN 301 549), familiarity with assistive technology, excellent communication skills, and experience collaborating with diverse teams.

You'll play a key role in reporting on accessibility metrics, supporting product and non-product teams, and guiding our overall program strategy.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate accessibility into development processes by working closely with design, engineering, research, content, and product management teams
  • Collaborate with Regulatory and Legal partners to oversee EAA compliance for eBay websites and mobile apps
  • Develop relationships with external suppliers to support accessibility initiatives
  • Create and implement accessibility standard processes and guidelines within the product development process
  • Support the small accessibility team with day-to-day tasks and activities
  • Define scope for regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and identify potential issues
  • Promote awareness and understanding of accessibility issues within eBay
  • Organize training sessions or workshops to educate teams about accessibility standards and practices

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility, or related areas
  • Proven experience in accessibility product management with a solid understanding of WCAG and EN 301 549
  • 5+ years directly in the accessibility space
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools, assistive technology, and software for testing and monitoring compliance
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills and a general can-do attitude
