Job Title: Senior Technical Artist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be responsible for providing support to our Art teams and serving as a gateway between the Art teams and other departments in the development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to Art teams and ensure seamless collaboration with other departments.
  • Establish and maintain best practices, quality bars, pipelines, and processes throughout development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and processes to address production constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and prioritize artist issues with tools and art creation workflows.
  • Work with engineers to implement features and test before main production.
  • Advocate for the department's goals and needs, removing roadblocks and raising red flags as necessary.
  • Collaborate with members in other departments to ensure solid working relationships.
  • Provide clear guidance on technical performance constraints, maintain assets, and help define asset budgets.
  • Contribute to project-level discussions and work with developers in all disciplines.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in the games industry as an artist, with some time in Technical Art.
  • In-depth expertise in 3D and 2D software packages, such as Maya, Photoshop, and Zbrush.
  • Strong understanding of pipelines and how to design and optimize them.
  • Good understanding of asset optimization challenges and content creation best practices.
  • Ability to own challenging issues and find practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of game engines and art integration, as well as corresponding technical restraints.
  • Experience addressing game performance and optimization.
  • Ability to receive and deliver constructive criticism.
  • Ability to inspire positivity within the team and trust with other departments.
  • Passion for making and playing games.
