About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our team at Canada Education Technology College. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in the development, installation, and operation of computer-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering: Collect and document user requirements to ensure that software solutions meet the needs of our students and faculty.
  • System Development: Coordinate the development, installation, and integration of computer-based systems, including software development and testing.
  • System Optimization: Develop process and network models to optimize system architecture and improve performance.
  • Software Development: Develop software solutions by studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • System Evaluation: Evaluate the performance and reliability of system designs to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Integration Planning: Plan every step of the integration of a computer-based system, including testing and quality control.
  • Software Maintenance: Prepare plans to maintain software and ensure it remains up-to-date and secure.
  • Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing to ensure that software applications are user-friendly and meet our quality standards.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls to ensure that software applications meet our high standards.
Requirements
  • Education: A college or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as computer science or software engineering.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in software development or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
