Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Bookkeeper to join our team at Optima Living. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, fixed assets, and depreciation.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Post journal entries and prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Prepare tax returns and trial balance of books.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably with a college certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, data analysis software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, and Sage Accounting Software is an asset.
