Job Summary

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly skilled CAD Manager to support the BIM Manager and Project Delivery Teams in maintaining the Common Data Environment (CDE) and supervising all CAD efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, technical knowledge, and experience in CAD/BIM and technical skills to produce 3D/2D dimensional models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the BIM Manager and Project Delivery Team(s) in day-to-day BIM implementation activities.
  • Setup, development, configuration, and establishment of the Common Data Environment (CDE) according to ISO 19650 standards.
  • Define discipline design organization and participation in a project, including execution of discipline work involving design approach, schedules, standards, budgets, and procedures.
  • Provide management/supervision for CAD team members, including performance evaluations, ongoing support, and communications.
  • Develop and maintain Modeling/Production templates.
  • Make staffing assignments and monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Control templates following the organization's and Project's quality procedures and the Project's BIM production methods and standards.
  • Measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks on models and maintain tracker to confirm geometrical and non-geometrical information compliance with the Project's design and BIM requirements.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks and report deviations of CAD Standards and ISO 19650 practices.
  • Provide training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, progress slippage, scope changes, budget overruns, or other events that could negatively affect project completion or profitability.
  • Actively participates in the company Quality Improvement Process (QIP).

Requirements

  • Technical degree or certificate of completion in CAD design from an accredited technical institution (or equivalent).
  • 12 years experience in supervisory roles within a similar industry.
  • Experience either from a Consultant or Contractor Environment on Rail & Transit projects.
  • Experience with ISO 19650.
  • Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms.

  • Project Information Model Delivery.
  • Quality assurance compliance and validation.
  • Collaboration, coordination, and clash/clearance detection and resolution.
  • Quantity Take Off / schedule creation.
  • Construction planning, animated programme (4D) and progress reporting.
  • As-built model delivery.
  • Asset Information Model Delivery, COBie, O&M and asset tagging.
