Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CADD Specialist to provide technical expertise and support for regional infrastructure replacement projects at Halton Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed CAD drawings and maps for various groups within Halton Region.
  • Conduct thorough research from internal and external sources to inform project decisions.
  • Compile and complete engineering base plan drawings, including water and wastewater design drawings and supporting documentation.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations and field edits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislated regulations.
  • Collaborate with utilities, local municipalities, and government agencies to achieve project goals.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise as needed.
  • Update drawings to "As Constructed" status and archive "As Constructed" drawings.
  • Support Project Managers and Management staff as required.
  • Participate in job rotations and shadowing within the Technical Services teams.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an OACETT accredited college or other recognized institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Proven skills with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, including pipe networks, volumes, grading, and ditches.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Possess strong analytical/mathematical skills and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Municipal design experience utilizing Civil 3D.
  • Skills with Civil3D sections, assemblies, and corridor modeling.
  • Municipal experience in design, survey, or inspection.
Working Conditions
  • Incumbent will attend design and construction site visits and meetings as required within Halton Region.
  • This position has prolonged periods of sitting.
