Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves working with mechanical systems, robotics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure efficient and smooth operation of automated production lines.
Key Responsibilities- Install, assemble, and align machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and schematics.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on automated systems, including robotics, conveyors, and PLCs.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production operations.
- Dismantle machinery to remove defective parts and replace them with new or repaired components.
- Test and calibrate machinery to ensure it operates at optimal performance levels.
- Integrate new equipment into existing automated systems, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Provide technical support and expertise in the operation and maintenance of automated systems.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in automation and robotics.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address machinery-related problems and improve overall efficiency.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a millwright, with a focus on automation and control systems.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or certification as a Journeyman Millwright.
- Additional certifications in automation, robotics, or PLC programming are a plus.
- Experience working with PLCs, robotics, and automated production lines.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in programming and maintaining PLCs and other control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment.
