About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for managing the submission of planning applications to Local Planning Authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Compile and submit planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation to Local Planning Authorities.
  2. Research and analyze prior planning history of sites to inform planning applications.
  3. Manage successful planning applications from submission to approval.
  4. Organize and maintain office work systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date computer records.
  5. Maintain a record of Local Planning Authorities' Planning policies and Local Plan Reviews for internal reference.
  6. Monitor and review local planning policy, including strategies for transport, economy, jobs, green infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change, and the historic environment.
  7. Conduct research to inform planning applications and negotiate with external consultants.
  8. Collate and maintain evidence from public consultation meetings as required.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  10. Represent the company at Planning Committee Meetings, Rights of Way Panels, and Public Consultation Meetings.
  11. Liaise with planning and development teams to understand operational development needs.
  12. Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Director of Regeneration.
  13. Ensure personal continuous professional development to remain skilled and trained in the role.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Planning, preferably within a construction background or house building company.
  • Planning, Surveying, or Architecture Degree or equivalent experience.
  • RTPI, RIBA, or RICS qualifications.
  • Excellent administration and commercial awareness skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
