About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Application Development to join our team at Gildan Yarns. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading the development team and ensuring the successful implementation of our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate the development team to ensure timely completion of projects, high-quality code, and adherence to technical documentation and testing processes.
  • SDLC Methodology: Apply Gildan's software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology and standards for programming and documentation.
  • ERP Validation: Validate the stability and integrity of our ERP system, as well as other connected applications, to ensure seamless transaction processing.
  • Interface Risks: Identify and mitigate interface risks and ensure ERP security.
  • Incident Management: Create monitoring tools to proactively manage incidents and ensure efficient transaction processing.
  • Implementation Support: Provide support for all phases of implementation, including pre- and post-implementation activities.
  • Team Development: Manage a team of professionals, train, and mentor team members to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years of ERP experience (JD Edwards World or E1 is an asset).
  • Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role, leading a team of professionals.
  • Business Acumen: Good understanding of business processes and knowledge of IBM Iseries machines (AS400) and DB2 is an asset.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex problems, including knowledge of enterprise systems, software development, and IT infrastructure.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with all IT groups of the organization.
  • Adaptability: Able to adapt to changing priorities and drive change within the team.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English (French and/or Spanish are assets).
