Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Sustainability Initiatives to join our team at Algonquin College. As a senior strategic leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Financial Sustainability Roadmap initiatives and transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered as per approved plans, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a transformation team to implement financial sustainability initiatives and projects
  • Work closely with the Algonquin College Executive Team (ACET) and Algonquin College Leadership Team (ACLT) members to achieve implementation goals
  • Develop and implement project plans, assign tasks, and ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables
  • Establish best practices in project management for transformation initiatives and projects
  • Present regular updates to the Algonquin College Executive Team (ACET) and the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Board of Governors
Requirements
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation is considered an asset
  • Highly developed skills in change management, communications, leadership, finance, human relations, problem-solving, and presentation
  • Knowledge of lean management principles is an asset
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills
  • Significant financial management and planning skills
  • Data Science education and skills
