About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Consultant to join our team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our Technology team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of our systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business, leveraging your expertise in software development testing.
  • Provide expert advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship, to drive quality and excellence.
  • Identify potential issues throughout all test phases and suggest possible improvements or enhancements to optimize our processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to project timelines, budgets, and goals.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in application/software design, engineering, testing, and development, with a solid understanding of design patterns and principles.
  • Strong knowledge of data-centric applications, data warehousing, data marts, and traditional Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) systems and tools.
  • Experience with git, modern branching/merging strategies, and development methodologies, including DevOps, CI/CD, automated unit testing, and static code analysis.
  • Proficiency in languages such as Oracle PL/SQL, Azure, UNIX shell scripting, Python, Scala, Java, and Cloud-related technologies like Azure Cloud Services, Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Blob.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, decision-making, leadership, mentorship, project coordination, quality assurance, testing strategies, and troubleshooting skills.
