Job Overview:

The Canadian Taxation team at TEEMA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to support the Manager in all aspects of Canadian taxation. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expertise in tax returns, tax provision, and audit assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, researching and documenting related tax accounting issues.
  • Prepare and file Canadian tax returns from data collection to submission.
  • Assist with commodity tax questions and provide expert advice.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to efficiently handle tax audits.
  • Develop technical tax position memorandums on Canadian tax issues and participate in strategic projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in taxation or completion of the CICA In-depth tax courses (desired).
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate Canadian taxation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP deferred taxes.
  • Proficiency in Taxprep and Microsoft Office suite.
  • CPA designation or working towards it (a plus).
  • Commodity tax knowledge (an asset).
  • OneSource software or similar tax provision software (desired).
  • SAP and Longview or similar accounting software (essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and bilingual proficiency in English and French (written and spoken). Essential for customer, partner, and American subsidiary interactions.
  • Rigorous and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
  • A proactive attitude and good teamwork skills are required.
  • A high level of autonomy and resourcefulness is essential for success.
