Overview:

Pomerleau, a leading construction company in Canada, is seeking an experienced Divisional Controller and Financial Compliance professional to join our accounting team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in planning, directing, and coordinating the operational functions related to subsidiary accounting and financial compliance for large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects.

About You:

  • Accounting designation (CPA) with 5-10 years of experience in accounting
  • Advanced level of English language proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Job Description:

As a Divisional Controller and Financial Compliance professional, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing the entire accounting cycle of subsidiaries, including Pomerleau Capital, ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Monitoring compliance responsibilities of the US subsidiary, Borea USA, and ensuring obligations are met
  • Coodinating and following up on tax and DAS audits
  • Providing technical support to project teams and service departments to help them understand and apply sales tax rules
  • Overseeing and collaborating with the team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including participating in tax compliance, for all subsidiaries
  • Participating in process improvement projects and ensuring the effectiveness and compliance of new initiatives
  • Carrying out various financial analyses at the request of management

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
