About the Role
Colas Western Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to join our team in Nelson, BC.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience operating boom pump machinery, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOR regulations.
- Fill water tanks before each project and secure all valves properly.
- Drive concrete pump trucks to and from project sites in a timely and responsible manner.
- Evaluate site conditions and collaborate with contractors or supervisors to park/set up the truck safely.
- Operate boom and concrete pump equipment to place concrete accurately, following provided instructions.
- Loading/unloading concrete pump attachments and using associated tools safely.
- Cleaning concrete pumps daily to maintain good working condition and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Coordinating with supervisors/contractors to manage payments efficiently.
