About the Role:
The District Sales Manager, BC will be responsible for implementing the organization's sales strategy by coaching and developing the BC sales execution team and overseeing all elements of execution. They will ensure that their reps are set up to succeed in every channel: on premise and retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a sales team; coaching and developing them to foster a culture of trust, accountability, openness, and a ruthless drive to results.
- Manage the communication flow to the field sales force through regular meetings, emails, phone calls, and text messages.
- Plan, develop, and champion the execution of the sales strategy.
- Work with sales reps to ensure they are profitability growing their territories.
- Ensure team has the ability and knowledge to effectively use all reporting tools, including Salesforce and Concur.
- Ensure team has the ability and knowledge to effectively manage a budget to grow their territories.
- Work with your team to develop and execute an annual territory plan and key customer development plans.
- Develop and employ tactics to achieve profitable customer growth.
- Track, assess, and share results internally.
- Create and deliver quarterly presentations, ensuring the field sales execution direction is in line with sales strategy.
- Review account coverage and service model on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal deployment to deliver business objectives.
- Work closely with Key Account Managers to ensure your team has the knowledge to be successful in different types of retail customers.
- Ensure the team is effectively managing T&E budgets.
- Communicate regularly on marketplace dynamics, competitive pressures, and promotional effectiveness internally.
Requirements:
- University Degree or Comparable (Primary Focus on Business, Sales, and/or Marketing).
- Track record of success in a similar role.
- Experience in the beverage alcohol industry an asset.
- WSET or ISG Certification an asset.
- Strong wine product knowledge and understanding of the BC beverage alcohol industry.
- Proven experience or certification in sales skills and negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills and polished presentation abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and peers.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, driven, and disciplined.
- Computer literacy, including the ability to create and modify PowerPoint presentations, Word and Excel documents, as well as effectively utilize web-based tools and resources.
- Proof of valid Driver's License required.
- Genuine interest and passion for the beverage alcohol industry.
- Ability to lift wine cases weighing up to 45 pounds.
