Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Clinical Social Worker to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, and transitional aged youth with mental illness disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to improve outcomes for clients
  • Employ evidence-based therapies, including CBT and DBT, to address client needs
  • Maintain current information on community resources and linkages with relevant social service agencies
  • Collaborate with treatment providers, including physicians and schools, to advocate for clients
  • Conduct and co-facilitate CBT and DBT groups for children and adolescents

Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work (child focus) required
  • Membership in OCSWSSW required
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health
  • Strong clinical skills, including assessment, counseling, and discharge planning
  • Knowledge of CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused Therapy preferred
  • Strong Family Therapist background required
  • Crisis intervention skills required
  • Previous group experience with this population required
  • Commitment to professional development required
  • Ability to document according to college standards required
  • Ability to function independently and think critically required
  • Working knowledge of current best practices for addictions treatment required
  • Culturally sensitive and appropriate patient care required
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork required
  • Knowledge of Halton Community Resources an asset
  • Excellent employment and attendance record required
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills required
  • Knowledge of DSM as it relates to the child and adolescent population required
  • Previous experience with electronic documentation preferred

Working Conditions

Hours: 8:30-4:30, subject to change based on operational requirements

Salary: $ - $ per hour

Site: Off Hospital Sites (Other sites employee may work at: Oakville)
