Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Child Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment plans for children, adolescents, and transitional aged youth with mental illness disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for clients
  • Provide a range of evidence-based therapies, including CBT and DBT, to improve client outcomes
  • Collaborate with treatment providers, including physicians, schools, and community organizations, to advocate for clients
  • Maintain current information on community resources and linkages with relevant social service agencies
  • Conduct and co-facilitate CBT and DBT groups for children and adolescents
  • Provide short- and long-term therapy and case management based on client needs
Qualifications
  • Master of Social Work (child focus) required
  • Membership in OCSWSSW required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health required
  • Strong clinical skills, including assessment, counseling, and discharge planning/community integration
  • Knowledge, skills, and certification in CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused Therapy preferred
  • Strong Family Therapist background required
  • Knowledge and skills related to crisis intervention required
  • Demonstrated previous group experience with this population
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to document according to college standards
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and be self-directed
  • Working knowledge of current best practices for addictions treatment
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver culturally sensitive and appropriate patient care
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Knowledge of Halton Community Resources an asset
  • Excellent employment and attendance record
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Knowledge of DSM as it relates to the child and adolescent population
  • Previous experience with electronic documentation preferred
Working Conditions
  • Hours: 8:30-4:30 and 11:00-19:00 (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
  • Salary: $ - $ per hour
  • Site: Off Hospital Sites (Other sites employee may work at: Oakville)
