  • Perform a variety of facility-related tasks in the areas of preventive and general building maintenance, carpentry, equipment construction/maintenance, and courier or locksmith duties.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by dusting, waste disposal, vacuuming of work areas, and site-specific clean-up.
  • Demolish and repair walls, work areas, and install carpet and flooring.
  • Paint and touch up as required, and install lighting, artwork, office equipment, etc.
  • Responsible for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet internal customer commitments on schedule and within budget.
  • Follow written work instructions and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, including those governing the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS).
  • Properly use required PPE and participate in LEAN Events, 'Six S' activities, action teams, etc.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Assist management with special projects and assignments as requested.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in maintenance/utility work or any combination of training and/or experience that will allow the incumbent to perform listed duties.
  • Thorough understanding of general job aspects and moderate understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and building construction trades (electrical, plumbing, AC, heating, ventilation, etc).
  • Skilled in operating applicable equipment.
  • Ability to lift/carry objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter.
